Car finder

Scenario: The customer’s rental car has been parked in a large parking structure. However, the frequent traveler does not remember precisely where it is or what it looks like.

Solution: A locator in the auto, powered by the car battery, continually looks for the tag on the user’s keychain. When the locator detects the tag, it sends information to the tag, telling it the car’s relative distance and bearing. The tag communicates this information to the user via a simple audio or visual interface.

Triangulation in three dimensions permits the information to include directions such as “The car is on a lower level” or “You are passing the car now.”
